Ashland Bridge - DE/08-02-02

Johnson Creek Bridge - KY/17-101-01

Haverhill-Bath Bridge - NH/29-05-04

Restoration work is presently being done on this 1829 structure.

Island Mill / Helmick Bridge - OH/35-58-15

Restoration work was scheduled to begin in mid-October with a June 2008 completion date. The next bridge in Morgan County to be renovated will be the San Toy Bridge 35-58-38.

Stonelick Bridge - OH/35-13-02

Being renovated during the fall of 2007 to carry busses and emergency vehicles. [Bridges and Byways, Autumn 2007, page 4]

Christman & Harshman Bridges - OH/35-68-12 & 03

Repairs to these Preble County bridges was scheduled to begin in December 2007. It is expected to take 4 months to complete. [The NSPCB Newsletter, Winter 2008, page 5]

Gilkey Bridge - OR/37-22-04

This bridge was damaged by a boom truck with the boom raised. Much of the upper lateral bracing was damaged along with a bottom chord, a broken brace and some bent iron truss rods. It will be repaired during the spring of 2008 by the Oregon Bridge Engineering Company. [The NSPCB Newsletter, Winter 2008, page 3]

Ritner Creek Bridge - OR/37-27-01

Rehabilitation of this bridge is nearly complete with a dedication planned for May 2008. The bridge has a new roof, new decking and a few new truss members. [The Bridge Tender, Spring 08, page 2]

Mood's / Branch Bridge - PA/38-09-07

This bridge was being reconstructed during the fall of 2007 and was scheduled to be completed in November. [Pennsylvania Crossings, Fall 2007, page 8]

It was destroyed by arson three years ago. While the fire totally destroyed the covered bridge trusses, roof, and siding, the self-supporting roadway remained serviceable. The bridge was reopened to traffic in August, 2004.
A replication of the original span will be built with $732,796 in funds provided by the state. The bridge deck will be replaced and the supporting steel beams repainted. The new structure will be modified to provide more height clearance and fire regardant will be applied. The covered bridge will be 14 feet wide and 120 feet long . Approximately 2,000 vehicles use the bridge daily. Lycoming Supply, Inc. of Williamsport, Pa. is the general contractor for the project. [Vermont Bridger, Fall 2007]

Pine Grove Bridge - PA/38-15-22 / PA/38-36-41

Reconstruction will begin soon. The bridge will be removed from its abutments, steel stringers will be addedand the bridge will be reconstructed. [Pennsylvania Crossings, Fall 2007, page 9]

Shoreham Railroad Bridge - VT/45-01-05

Scheduled to be rehabilitated. The work is to be completed by December 2007. [Vermont Bridger, Summer 2007]

Braley Bridge in Randolph - VT/45-09-04

Was removed from its abutments and put into storage until the final rehabilitation project can take place. This was done to keep it from falling into the river. A temporary bridge was constructed adjacent to the bridge site. I expect that the rehabilitation project to put the bridge back on new abutments was to be advertised for bids in the summer of 2007. Sayre Bridge in Thetford - VT/45-09-06

Being rehabilitated by Alpine Construction. [Vermont Bridger, Summer 2007]

River Road Bridge - VT/45-10-03

This bridge is currently being repaired.

Weathersfield's Downer's Bridge - VT/45-14-08

Scheduled to be under repair. [Vermont Bridger, Summer 2007]

 


New Construction

 

Wimer Bridge - OR/37-15-05

Construction is nearly complete on the new Wimer Bridge. This bridge is replacing one which collapsed in July 2003. It is expected to be completed during 2008. [The Bridge Tender, Spring 08, page 3]


Upcoming Work

 

Stonelick/Williams Corner Bridge - OH/35-13-02

Restoration of this bridge is to begin during the summer of 2008 with completion expected by the fall of 2009. [Buckeye Bridge Briefs, Winter 2007, page 4]

Geeting & Warnke Bridges - OH/35-68-13 & 14

Repairs to these Preble County bridges is scheduled to begin in April 2008. [The NSPCB Newsletter, Winter 2008, page 4]

Rapp's Dam Bridge - PA/38-15-14

This bridge was last restored in 1977 and is in need of rehabilitation. Design work should be completed by November 2009 with construction planned for June - November 2010. [Pennsylvania Crossings, Fall 2007, page 8]

Jack's Creek Bridge - VA/46-68-02

Patrick County has received a $227,000 grant to assist in rebuilding this bridge. [The NSPCB Newsletter, Winter 2008, page 5]


Recently Completed

Jackson Bridge - IN/14-61-28

This bridge was re-opened to traffic on October 10, 2007 after being restored by bridge wright Amos Schwartz. [The NSPCB Newsletter, Winter 2008, page 4]

Newton Falls Bridge - OH/35-78-01

Renovation of this bridge has been completed. [The NSPCB Newsletter, Winter 2008, page 4]

Mill Branch/Barlow Bridge - OH/35-84-17

Renovation work was to be completed in September 2007.

Coyote Creek Bridge - OR/37-20-02

Some new diagonals have been added to the Howe truss and this bridge is reopened to traffic. Some bracing timbers were replaced and weather-boarding at the entrances was replaced. [The Bridge Tender, Spring 08, page 2]

Kramer Bridge - PA/38-19-23

Restoration of this bridge is complete and it is open to traffic. [Buckeye Bridge Briefs, Winter 2007, page 4]

Cisna Mill/Adair Bridge - PA/38-50-04

Restoration of this bridge is complete and it is open to traffic. [Buckeye Bridge Briefs, Winter 2007, page 4]

Saville Bridge - PA/38-50-07
