The purpose of the Society shall be to promote the preservation of covered wooden truss bridges, to gather and record knowledge of their history, and to collect and preserve pictures, printed, and manuscript materials, and other items of historical or antiquarian interest pertaining to them.

The Society publishes Topics, a quarterly containing research articles about covered bridges past and present. The quarterly newsletter keeps members informed of society events and covered bridge news. The Spring 2010 newsletter was posted on July 2nd.

Each year the Society holds six meetings including our annual meeting in October. The meetings are held in various locations throughout New England. The next meeting will be at the Whittier Bridge in Ossipee, NH on July 25th at 1:00pm. The calendar was updated on May 25th.
